November 23, 2009 - Unitech Electronics, a global data collection hardware manufacturer, launched its newest rugged handheld terminal. The Unitech HT680 (buy here from Legacy Technology Services) is a compact, lightweight mobile computer featuring wireless network connectivity and an optional 1D laser or 2D imager scan engine.
The Microsoft Windows CE 5.0 Professional Plus operating system and Marvell PXA270 520MHz CPU makes configuration and integration of the HT680 with other systems easy. The HT680 is equipped with Bluetooth 2.0 and EDGE-GPRS connectivity as well as CCX4 WLAN roaming capability, making it perfect for mobile applications.
Durable and rugged, the HT680 is designed for the toughest applications including manufacturing, retail, logistics and transportation. It is IP54 rated, safeguarding it from moisture and dust and can withstand multiple 6-foot (1.8meter) drops to concrete.
The HT680 weighs less than a pound and is ergonomically designed for one-handed operation. The smart scan angle is perfect for scan-intensive applications such as warehousing and its 22 key backlit keypad makes data entry simple.
“We are always thinking about customer’s needs when designing our products. The HT680 is packed with features users are demanding such as the optional 4,000mAH battery and its ergonomic 30 degree scanning tilt.” according to Howard Weng, Unitech’s Mobile Computer Product Manager.
